Ship Registration & Compliance: The BMA manages the registration of vessels under the Benin flag, ensuring adherence to international maritime regulations and facilitating global trade operations.

Maritime Safety & Security: It enforces safety protocols and security measures to protect maritime activities within Benin’s territorial waters, contributing to the broader safety framework .

Seafarer Standards & Labour Compliance: The administration oversees the certification and welfare of seafarers, aligning with conventions set by the International Labour Organization (ILO) to promote fair working conditions at sea.
